3/8 CABLE, 50 FT LONG, FIBER CORE. Fiber-core cables are lightweight and flexible, so they are easy to handle and install. Fiber-core cables have less “memory” than steel-core cables, so they are more apt to stay where you put them, rather than going their own way like a Steel Core cable. Steel core cables are proven to have longer wear, and maintain their shape better than fiber core cables. Steel Core Cables are about 10% Stronger than a Fiber Core cables. Athough they are stronger, they do have their Pro's & Con's. Steel Core Cables lose their strength drastically, when kinked or bent. A Fiber Core Cable is more Flexible and can be, kinked or bent w/o losing it's strength. A Fiber Core cable comes O.E.M. on Miller & Jerr-Dan equipment. WORKING LOAD LIMIT FOR A FIBER CORE IS 2,680 LBS - MINIMUM BREAK STRENGTH 13,420 LBS.
